A loudly rattled series in its time. On viewing, I almost drooped over the terrible translation of Reanimedia. It turns out that voiceover reading can sometimes be better than the official voiceover.
The main spoiler of the story is revealed quite quickly (or not, depending on the order of viewing with which the creators of the series screwed up). The idea of deliberately mixing the series at the premiere screening looks quite controversial, because so, it must be, what is happening will be completely incomprehensible to viewers who are not familiar with the original source.
The idea of Infinite Eight in the second season just seems daring and playful at first, however, the understanding of why this arch came after watching the full-length sequel.
A great movie, offering to look for something interesting in the world. Aliens, psychics and guests from the future are attached. The plot here is built on how these searches occur, so there is nothing to retell, it is just worth watching.
I want to note that in most cases, except for the detective story, there is no certainty what will happen next and it makes it even more interesting to watch.
At first, the fantasticity of what is happening makes you angry at the “royals in the bushes”, but then you understand the rules by which the local universe works, and you do not notice how you begin to estimate the further development of events with new rules of the game. Nice.
At the same time, the voiceover could be great – the songs are all translated and sung, it is clear that they are worse in quality, because of the limitations. Secondary and small-speaking characters are well voiced, but Haruhi and Kyung were voiced by people who did not understand what emotions to play.
Instead of wanting to play and ignoring the desires of others, domestic viewers heard outright sadism and a desire to mock, for the sake of the process itself. Kyung, instead of quietly murmuring under his nose, sincerely not understanding the joke of what is happening, plays off an extremely interested hikkari who tries his best to pretend that he is not interested in what is happening.
I highly recommend watching, but with subtitles.
