Breaking bad is perfect at everything. The script and story are just amazing. A lot of storylines and all worked out at the highest level. Each season had its own story arc and villain. Events are shown as realistically as possible to show a good story. What happens to the characters affects their further achievements, their character and behavior. Character motivation is shown by events, not explanations of what’s good. Heroes evolve throughout history, moving in the direction in which they would follow in reality. And what happens every time takes on more and more scope. In Season 5, they went beyond the bulwark of democracy.
The series is essentially dramatic, the events in the series (drug trafficking, murder, hostage-taking) are shown from the most unsightly side, but at the same time with a lion’s share of humor, sometimes black. Hard scenes are mixed with funny comedy. And a big dose of epic, especially at the end.
Walter White is the perfect villain protagonist. He started out as a normal person, standing on the edge of a cliff of his destiny. And ended up like a real Mephistopheles. He finally managed to reveal himself to the full only by engaging in crimes and he got real pleasure from it. Which he himself has said many times.
Jesse has gone from being a drug addict rat to being some kind of real person, gaining more and more humanity with each season. This is really a very emotional person, ready for the sake of loved ones. But at the same time, he regularly went crazy. Eventually, he began to feel guilty for what he had done.
The other characters are revealed a little less, but they are no less interesting. It's the same Hank break that's been going on all seasons. It was interesting to watch. Antagonists are epic, cool and charismatic. Tuco and Gus are out of competition. Hector, even sitting in a wheelchair, looked like a pure embodiment of an evil demon.
The musical accompaniment is excellent. There are many great songs and melodies, most often Latin American. The main theme of the series is pretty good. The clip about Heisenberg is very unusual and very good, I have never seen this before before watching this series.
A beautiful show that shows how a person can change, what they can be pushed to make these changes, and what will happen. The difficult fate of a chemistry teacher and his pupil, later even his son. Because that's how their relationship happened. It also depicts the lives of drug dealers and drug addicts themselves, that is, the underside of this business. Again, a bunch of funny jokes and scenes. And just cool scenes and dialogue. What to talk about, if the Internet series dispersed to quotes, gifs with scenes from the film and so on.
It is a very popular series and deservedly so.
