The sixth sense Unique works of the Commonwealth of Russian and Japanese animation, in a peculiar presentation of the events of the Second World War, and in particular the Great Patriotic War. The product is both exclusive and at the same time completely traditional. A teenage girl receives superpower, you can remember everything at once - from Sailormun to Shana, the traditional type of anime-heroines: 14 years old, small breasts, expressive eyes, closed in herself, ready to give her life for victory, brave and brave, as always in love. As for the rest of the set of characters, although it is diverse, but revealed in the end little. In general, the cartoon goes too little time, in other words, has a small timekeeping, because the moments that require emphasis are simply missed in the plot. Well, the villains are even more classic: “if an incredibly large chest is a villain” and as soon as it appears on the screen, there will be no doubts about the party’s affiliation, and the main antagonist is traditionally strong and incredibly cunning, leaving room for the sequel and further continuation of events.
On the other hand, all such criticism can be sharply cut short by the dashing swing of a sharp phrase - "in the best traditions." And that would be true. There are no stamps, there are traditions and general templates of the genre, which are just a favorite frame of such stories. Therefore, to blame the film in some secondary, in the presence of such an original idea and the implementation of a fantastic idea, is simply meaningless and absurd.
As for the technical part, the drawing is excellent. Beautiful drawing, powerful action, famously staged episodes of battles. Installation is difficult to evaluate, because video inserts lubricate the impression, but if you try to abstract from them, everything looks dynamic and in one breath.
Raising both the theme of war and the theme of confrontation with demonic forces, the authors create a work of art so unique in originality that it is simply rude to level it with anything. That's what the rest of it should be. And what else to act "First detachment", as not a measure of the quality of the idea and its implementation. After all, an interesting story that is not similar to anything is drawn as best as possible, and the spectacle captures and immerses inside the events taking place.
A word about the Russian dubbing. It turned out well, but in places too dry and unemotional. The final "Naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!" was just a nightmare, it was weak to get into the role and shout into the microphone, as if the girl really loved is in mortal danger? I want to hear how the film was dubbed into other languages.
The cartoon is not without minuses, but this does not prevent it from being a masterpiece, surpassing everything at once. And even if in the future the sequels will be better than the first part, nothing will take away such a significant status from this cartoon, only the concept of “masterpiece” will be applicable immediately to the entire franchise (or animated series), and not to a separate feature.
10 out of 10
(I put it down, mentally removing the inserts and pasting the story without them, and adding an amazing kiss scene from the trailer)
