Wings are freedom only when opened in flight, behind them are weight.

The film is based on the novel of the same name by Polish writer Jerzy Andrzejevski, published in 1948. I read the book two years ago. I watched the great film by Andrzej Wajda. The film was shot for 60 days (from March to June 1958).
The film perfectly conveys the main idea, in my opinion, is inner loneliness. There is no pressure on the viewer due to the social motive, the dominant of one over the other. Everything in one smooth, just telling manner who is a person and who is not. With the tendency of light towards the problems of the Human Shell. And Poland is very coolly shown - atmospheric everything - streets, interiors, everyday life of the postwar period. And a lot of metaphors about freedom.
Here, in my opinion, there is an allusion to Shawshank Escape: I still do not know what these two Italian women sang about, and I do not want to know. Something better to keep quiet. I like to think that they were singing about something so beautiful that you can't put it into words, and it makes your heart hurt. I tell you, those voices hovered where no one dares to climb in their dreams. It's like some beautiful bird flew into our cage and made those walls disappear. And for a moment every inhabitant of Shawshank felt himself a free man.
Ashes and Diamond is the ultimate film in Wajda’s war trilogy. The final point of the film says that. And I highly recommend watching this film because of the masterpiece of Zbigniew Tsybulsky. Anger, as well as hopelessness, hopelessness, longing, despondency - plays in colors - very worthy. The whole palette of the game.
Very good movie. Highest score. I highly recommend it.👏
