Take away Sonya's character rights I really like superheroics. I’ve watched a lot of superhero movies and TV shows. And Morbius is such a typical origin of the character that it is even unclear how this could come out in 2022.
The most revealing moment is the main enemy, who has exactly the same powers as the hero. Only casually can I remember Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk and Venom (2 of these films came out as early as 2008!!!! and even then it did not look like a cool idea).
And besides the fact that the film is very banal, it is just poorly made. If you go on about the villain, then his motivation is like, I was offended, so when I get the strength now I will offend everyone, it's some bullshit. Maybe this behavior is real (which is unlikely), but in the framework of the film it looks ridiculous. Another evil villain who is evil because the world has offended him (even Electro in New Spider-Man 2 is better made, in terms of an offended character).
And the scenes where Morbius tries out his new abilities (which are usually some of the most interesting in superhero originals) are so boring. He's just jumping around his lab and all that, well, how can you not think of anything so interesting?
The action scenes are also not anything interesting, several times I literally laughed, because of how ridiculous they use slowo.
The main character causes some sympathy only at first, and then he begins to behave like an idiot and becomes no matter what happens to him in the end. Even Jared Leto does not save the situation (he is generally unlucky for roles in superhero films, first the kringe Joker in the suicide squad, now this).
In general, this is an insanely banal and just poorly made film. Superheroics is now in dire need of rethinking and new solutions, and Morbius would look outdated, even if it came out 10 years ago.
