Very high-quality film. It used to be the state of dictatorships in Argentina and Chile, with thousands of missing, tortured people. Now states are disappearing and gangs are doing the same thing - the director immerses us in the Mexican outback, where no mayor holds "in power" for more than six months, where you can talk about what is happening only in private, where an elderly Magdalena is looking for a missing son. In the past, states allowed them to search for what the dictator called “bones,” and today’s gangs won’t even allow that. Neither age nor gender will protect you from anything. The native Alberto Mateo, who is elderly and can no longer distinguish his face, will be shown a spiritual vision of what is happening in the night lit by the flames of the fire, and then the same scene will be shown to us with words and faces. Alberto understands only his native language and does not see faces - and it turns out that the Spanish language and the face seen, on the contrary, only obscure what is happening, hiding it from us.
