I watched the first season of Billy the Kid. I liked the series a lot, but there were some annoying moments. In particular, I thought I’d see a film about Billy’s criminal adventures and his confrontation with Pat Garrett, that there would be more dynamics in the film. As a result, I see one solid backstory: for one and a half, or even two and a half series there is a thrust of Billy’s early Youth and his move to the West. This route to the West takes exactly one series. This part of the series, in my opinion, could be cut down and told the maximum for the half of the series. Then came the thrust of how Billy came to live like this. It seems that the writers are trying to justify all his actions and put on his image a kind of romanticism. The film has a lot of inconsistencies, although it is based on real events. What the hell did Pat Garrett lose in a gang of six rivers?! He was a cowboy and then became a sheriff. There is no information that Pat was a bandit, and moreover, lured Billy into the gang. Screenwriters, why write what already happened? Another inconsistency with the same Pat. Pat tells Billy about his life and talks about how his first wife, Juanita Martinez, died of childbirth. Well, she didn't die of any fucking birth. She died of an unknown illness 18 days after the wedding. Well, it's all small things. Now a few words about actors and characters. Billy (Tom Blythe) is very well-chosen. So I want to shout out the phrase of the director Yakin from Ivan Vasilyevich ... Oh my God, what a type!!! " This is the case when the actor is very similar to his character, so similar that no makeup is needed. The performance itself is also on the level. Billy is my hard five. Exactly the same thing I want to say about the image of Pat Garrett, only to add at the same time: "However, I do not recognize you in makeup! Oh, my God, you are Alex Roe!!! The director saw Pat Garrett in Alex Rowe, quite unlike the real Pat. There was a great joint work of the actor, director and makeup artist. The result of this work was excellent. I really hope that Alex will return to the role of Pat Garrett in the second season of the series and he will have more screen time there. For Pat Garrett, my fat five plus. Total overall score of 4 out of 5. Director, cameraman and actors - round excellent students. But the screenwriter reduced the score by two points for unnecessary speculation to the real story and deliberate delaying the script. If there were less nonsense in the script, the series could do and one season.
