We are all looking for love
Quite an interesting documentary from Netflix about love and how it can (but should not) be used. The film tells the true story of a fraudster who deceived the girls and forced them to give him money. It consists of conversations with girls who are illustrated with real photos and videos from their phones or staged shooting. Originally, The Tinder Swindler begins as a romantic love story to become a thriller and then a crime drama.
In general, it is interesting to watch all 2 hours. He copes with his main task to tell the story of cheated girls and a scammer. Personally, I was very angry with this guy (I will write without insults) for the way he treated the female heroes of this film. And I think if I was angry with him, the movie worked exactly as it should. In addition, the girls are really sorry. Their history with the fraudster is described in great detail and it becomes clear how and why they got into his manipulative networks.
In fact, almost everyone can fall into this trap, as this film shows. We all want, if not love, then at least some intimacy, we want to trust other people and help them. Without it, society would have long ceased to exist.
And the behavior of the girls is, to some extent, admirable, because they were able to admit that they were cheated. And after that, they did not sit idle, but deployed a public company so that as many people as possible learned about this fraudster and no longer fell for his deception.
Another interesting thing is that when the girls talked about starting a relationship with this guy, they were so excited about it. Their eyes were literally burning. That is, even when they found out that this guy is a liar and because of him they are up to their ears in debt, the girls remembered it as happy moments. This is very interesting and clearly shows that these girls still believe in love.
But it's a shame that this guy never got the punishment he deserved for his actions. Around the world, girls still live in debt because of him, and he lives in freedom in his home country and has no problems. Not everything in the world is as it should be.
But thanks to this film began collecting money to pay off the debts of these girls and already (as of February 15, 2022) collected 125,000 pounds out of 600,000. This movie is not for nothing.
I recommend watching it to reflect on love, trust and money.
