Louis Malle's film Milou en mai (1989) is a family melodrama and comedy. Why "what?" Because during the film in one of the rooms of the house is the corpse of his mistress, which relatives do not manage to bury, since the action takes place in 1968 during the famous student unrest, which escalated into a major political crisis, and everyone is on strike. Almost all the characters are members of the same family or have something to do with it - a devoted maid, a friend, a truck driver - a casual companion of the son of Georges, one of the sons of the deceased mistress. The second son is Milou (Michel Piccoli), who lived with his mother and looked after the house. The mistress did not have time to die, and they gathered as a very active and not very clean daughter Mila Camille (Miu-Miu), which by and large is not an heir, her father is the heir, initiates the division of property, immediately raises the question that the house and land should be sold, against which Mila objects. And all this turmoil begins in the frame of echoes of political events, to which everyone listens, and then reacts very foolishly, while no one shows signs of grief, everyone is busy with themselves and their deeds (they can not even be called deeds). But it all ends sooner or later. As you understand, the plot is not very original, on this topic shot a lot of films, but Louis Malle did not shoot a heartbreaking drama, all this is filmed with a lot of irony and even satire, the actors play good, as always, good Michelle Piccoli.
