A key moment that even the director did not suspect.
The hilarious detail is closer to the denouement, when it becomes clear why Glavger Günther is such a professionally unfit fool and he will again be bred and framed (and in fact) - at the first meeting of Abdullah in the bank, a list of funds with addresses in Grozny is shown. Günther further announces at the meeting:
Dr. Abdullah has provided an extensive list of his favorite charities that could receive these millions. Each of them was confirmed by the CIA as clean.
"Clean" charitable foundations in Chechnya, ahahaha, lol. It would have been funnier if they had asked our prosecutor's office.
I doubt, of course, that the filmmakers or foreign (and not particularly attentive our) viewers at all thought about this, um, nuance, but from such an angle of our reality, this protracted bureaucratic drama about the undercover struggle of departments at least acquires some lively volume.
