"Vitya, please tell me what I did to you?" The correction class meets a new one - Lena Chekhova becomes the only student with disabilities in the school. From the first words of the harsh headmistress, it becomes clear that no one deserves special treatment here, or only those whom the boss herself chooses. Classmates, on the other hand, welcome an intelligent, well-read and beautiful friend through misfortune. Lena is immediately given access to the secret meeting place of the KKO community despised by many “normal” schoolchildren – the railway. Moreover, three guys stare indifferently at the girl who chooses the most gallant of them - Anton.
Things that are familiar to most teenagers - lessons, socializing with friends, long walks, first love - for the main character are similar to sports achievements that have to go for years. But the main competition with life – the right to a normal education – is yet to come. After all, what can be the exam after the CWC, if you have to solve arithmetic for the third class?
School, as the director sees it, is a place of total neglect of everything that concerns education. The one hundred percent female collective, for which the correction class is like a black sheep, and the cleaning lady who promotes the theory of racial purity in the teacher, are more vivid markers of the crisis of society than beer-drinking students. Guys who, perhaps, just with the diction a little unlucky, put the creators of the picture in double opposition – both to teachers and other students.
Therefore, the problem of cruelty in the teenage environment, which many films tend to look for in the struggle of the group with outcasts, acquires a special sound in the “Correction Class”. Hiking to the “iron” in order to lie under a passing train is a clear gesture of despair, to which, by the way, not all “correctionists” are inclined. But it is these, the most desperate, who eventually begin to see themselves as “normal” in comparison with the disabled, who, although possesses all possible virtues, but moves only with the help of others. Well, who is this wheelchair to tell us how to learn, how to teach and how to love, right?
If someone did not understand, here for a long time do not teach, do not study and do not like – there is only distribution in good and bad classes, getting good certificates and bad certificates, “hygiene lessons” and talk about sex. In the spirit of real fascism, a commission of educated and well-understanding people chooses the state of physical health as the criterion of distribution.
“The class of correction” could be considered a provocation and manipulation, if not for the blatant relevance of everything that began a difficult conversation with the viewer Tverdovsky. The “Class of Correction” could be considered a black woman, if not for the miracle of the victory of life in the history of Lena, similar to the main event of the Gospel.
