Documentary report on the expulsion of fascists from Ukraine. Once again rejoices, greeting the Red Army, Lviv, who waited for liberation once again - after the previous one, then from the oppression of Pan Poland, in the 39th. Another of the well-known places in Ukraine in the film mentions Kiev, the hitch with the release of which arose in connection with the necessary regrouping, and Avdiivka and Kurdyumovka took, probably, on the move: the talent of our commanders with unexpected directions of the main blows, and the invariable valor of Soviet soldiers affected. In the reconquered territory there was immediately coordinated intensive production of industrial and agricultural products necessary for the front and for the Victory.
This film, made by Dovzhenko in the victorious 45th, is in fact a continuation of the film he created in the 43rd, at the height of the war - when its outcome was still, apparently, not so clear - with tearing emotions, "The Battle for Our Soviet Ukraine", and in comparison looks confidently optimistic - and, perhaps, somewhat emasculated. The “trick” of the film, which is distinguished by the skill of editing the newsreel fragments forming it, our and the trophy, is the manner of Leonid Khmara, who voices the voiceover author’s text of Dovzhenko, sometimes very expressive in its journalistic art.
