The film of a dying franchise about dying characters with a dying actor.
In general, the X-Men movie universe has already become famous in the media space for its endless contradictions, of which there are so many that all these parts simply cannot be part of a single chain of events. Each film is shot almost without connection with the previous one: the actors, the age of the characters, characters, abilities, chronology of events change as they want, the twists of some parts are not used in others, all the canons of the characters are destroyed, Shelma is not like Shelma, Mercury is a good man, Kitty Pride and Colossus are played by different people every time, Deadpool is generally a miracle-judo, only the lazy did not laugh at changing the image of Trask. And then finally the studio realized all this, and the director honestly said in an interview that Logan takes place in a slightly different universe, that is, he just couldn’t work with the mountain of nonsense that was put up for 17 years, and he just wanted to honestly isolate his film. But what does it mean to be a little different universe? She's either different or she's not.
By itself, the film turned out to be quite good, but only for the reason that it is not very “X-men”, it cut out the maximum possible amount of nonsense. A little bit more and it would be just a strong crime drama about a father and daughter running from bandits. But there's enough nonsense left:
- People have long dreamed of killing all mutants. Now that they've done that, they've started building them again.
- The lab gave clear instructions to kill mutant children as a failed project. But they escaped, and now they want to be caught alive.
- Laura doesn't talk half the movie because? .
- We're being chased by thugs, let's go to the harmless locals' farm to get an unnecessary side quest to stretch the timeline, and then kill this whole family. That's the worst part of the movie.
- The children are waiting at the transfer base to escape. Why not go straight to your destination? Yes, in this case, they will not gather in a large group, but it would be safer.
- Why would the characters assume that anything would be different at the destination? Is there an Eden? Don't let bad guys in? Their escape makes no sense because they will eventually be found anywhere.
- In “Days of Future Past,” we were shown that the characters corrected the chain of events through time travel, Xavier’s school is in perfect order, everyone who died before is alive, now everything is fine. And all this was in order to now take and kill everyone.
In general, some shoals want to forgive for the fact that the film is made qualitatively and originally, but alas, it shows the fatigue of the authors and actors from all this labuda, and besides, the film strongly resembles “Leon”. Even the name.
