Police history Adam McKay's new police-themed comedy Buddy Movie tells the humorous story of cop-partners climbing to the forefront from deep stock. Dreaming of heroism, the character of Mark Wahlberg and quite satisfied with the quiet life of the hero of Will Farrell for a couple fall into a string of funny adventures, incredibly stupid and at the same time incredibly funny.
The film is very pleased from the very beginning, both with its visual action and magnificent selection of actors, and directly with its excellent humor presented here, both in ridiculous situations and in extremely funny dialogues. Some sayings of Wahlberg about peacocks or the analysis of the fight of a lion with a tuna from Farrell already deserve attention and turn out to be amazingly funny, and not only they are so valuable this comedy.
Slowly presenting the main characters, performed by Farrell and Wahlberg, for ten minutes the audience is entertained by sparkling ways of catching the criminals of another couple - Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, whose incredibly spectacular but short-lived participation in the film ends with the most rye scene of the comedy, which this film will be remembered first of all.
A couple of minutes after the prologue, preparations for an incredible extravaganza of a very stupid, but at the same time equally funny humorous action flutter, where a couple of the main characters manage to play their interesting, rather open characters, and anneal at every turn. A magnificent and dynamic script combines rushing in frantic dynamics side by side and comedic situations and killer dialogues.
The film is full of spectacular entertainment elements, and there is almost everything you want: references to movies and computer games and programs, shootouts - multiple and varied, exploding helicopter - is present, exciting chases with a car crash, an abundance of ridiculous and stupid situations in which the main characters are, and many other wonderful entertainment that does not give you bored throughout the entire timekeeping.
There is no point in getting into the plot rehearsals, the episodes replace the predictable banality with extremely original finds and back in a matter of minutes, but the main plot here does not even have the same value as every situation in which the characters find themselves, or their verbal skirmishes. And a light sagging action in the final seems to give some respite before the final denouement and the main action shootout, as a result of which the film is difficult to blame for the delay, but from the final quarter of minutes 15 could be more than removed.
Charismatic acting presentation of characters again does not leave indifferent. Gathering such a bright caste is a difficult task, and squeezing the most out of each one is even more time-consuming. But McKay manages not only to shoot one of the best police comedies, but also to play a chic memorable cameo.
A stunning and vivid comedy and a fascinating police story with a sea of jokes and amazing humor. Annealing at every turn Keaton, Stevenson, Farrell and Wahlberg, create together with other bright representatives of excellent casting, a magnificent tandem of colorful and funny characters. And the action captures from the first minutes and does not bother until the very end, leaving the desire to watch again and again. After the credits, by the way, there is an amazing scene with a joke in the cafe. "Cops in Deep Reserve" is not only a bright representative of the comedies of the Buddy Movie, but also almost one of the best such films. A nominee for best comedy of the year? Oh, yeah!
