Kinder surprises, bird football and hot coffee Not outstanding in dynamics, this "household" prison drama is actually a story about two "Rs" - Dane Rune and Muslim immigrant Rashid. According to the film, they are too different to make any comparisons, are connected by a kind of friendship, cemented by a common stay in prison and simple joint “business”.
Realism, as a possible concept of this picture, manifests itself on two levels. Firstly, these are all sorts of curious details of prison life, such as the peculiarities of torture in difficult conditions or “hot coffee”, intended for snitches and other unreliable personalities.
Secondly, the director excludes from the film manifestations of any absolutism, whether it is an irreconcilable struggle between clans, too principled guards or the opportunity to become a hero, at least for himself. Murders, as if by the way, the indifferent cruelty of experienced people put young Rune and Rashid before one task - to find a point of support. Interestingly, the approach to its solution in the two prisoners is radically different.
The atmosphere of halftones hides moral choice in the nooks of prison corridors, but does not negate its necessity.
