Elena Topilskaya is a Russian writer, screenwriter. She was born on January 27, 1959 in Leningrad, where she spent her childhood. In 1991, Elena Topilskaya became a candidate of legal sciences. Her dissertation was based on the topic of protection of the rights of victims. She is also the author of many scientific papers and textbooks on prosecutorial supervision. He has the title of professor and teaches at the law school.
In 1998, the writer was invited to study at the University of Essex in the UK, where she successfully completed a course on human rights. Currently, Topilskaya is Deputy Chairman of the Commission on Human Rights in St. Petersburg.
Elena began writing her first books while working in the prosecutor’s office. The plots were based on real crimes that were solved by her, and in the main characters you can recognize officials, businessmen and prosecutors.
The author has written more than twenty books. The main character of all the works was the young investigator Maria Shevtsova.
In 2000, the first film adaptation of Topilskaya's novels was released. The series got a name.
