Dan Abnett is a British writer and writer. Dan is remembered as the author of Marvel Comics and 2000AD magazines in the early nineties. He also contributed to DC comics, where he co-wrote the Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer cycles, and worked on short stories for Games Workshop’s Black Library.

As the most prolific author of 2000AD, Abnett was responsible for shaping the longest-lived and most popular comic book hero of the past decade, Sinister Dexter. In addition, Dan left his mark on the characters of the comics Durham Red, Rogue Trooper and Judge Dredd.
Abnett’s work for Marvel Comics included his work on the Battletide series, Death’s Head, The Knights of Pendragon, The War Machines, The Punisher, Annihilation: Nova, and selected X-Men stories.
As part of DC comics, Dan Abnett's most popular work was a reissue of The Legion of Superheroes, which was released in 2000FD. The co-author of this work in this project was Andy Lanning, and they most often had to sign as DnA.
For Dark Horse Comics, Dan Abnett, along with Ian Edgington, formed the Planet of the Monkeys: Blood Lines series, as well as HyperSonic and Lords of Misrule. In the style of military science fiction, Dan wrote works about the Warhammer 40,000 universe. They included the Gaunt’s Ghosts series, the Inquisitor trilogy, and later the first book in the Horus Heresy series, which became a bestseller. It was the novel The Rise of Horus. In addition, Abnett had the opportunity to write several novels for the Warhammer series.
Abnett's works have sold more than a million copies as of 2008.
In 2010, the animated film Ultramarines was released, the script for which was written by Dan. He also worked for DC comics and Marvel Comics.
