John Ajvide Lindqvist (born 1968, Stockholm) is a Swedish writer. He writes in the genre of horror. Lindqvist grew up in the Stockholm suburb of Blakeberg (Swedish. Blackeberg). Before becoming a writer, Lindqvist worked for twelve years as a magician and stand-up comedy artist. In addition to fiction, he also wrote the script for the Swedish television series Kommissionen, most of the material for the television series Reuter & Skoog and the script for the future adaptation of his novel Let Me In. Tre Vänner has acquired the rights to create a television series and a movie.
