The theme of war is perhaps eternal. No matter how psychologically difficult the plot, he will still find his viewer. The reason for this is the connection of each family with those terrible times. This is not the fantasy of the writers, but what life has written. One such example is the film Our Father. His story will not leave indifferent any heart.
Man is man's friend?
The film tells the story of one day of the life of an unnamed Jewish woman and her four-year-old son. She goes to the city for the gatherings she was called to. Approaching the ghetto, the woman understands what awaits them with the baby, so quickly leaves the place. They begin to wander around snow-covered Odessa. The family does not dare to go to ask for help from friends. In the middle of the night, the mother and son fall asleep on a bench, and in the morning their bodies are found dead from hypothermia.
The dramatic film “Our Father” was filmed based on the story of the same name by V. Kataev, which he wrote in 1946. This is a true story that happened in Odessa during the Jewish occupation. The woman saved herself and her son from being sent to the ghetto and raid. At that moment there was not a soul that could lend a helping hand. The horrific realities of the war are shown.
30 years on film
In 1964, the film was decided by director Boris Ermolaev. He approached the task with great responsibility. The script was rewritten 21 times. The audience saw the film with an eloquent title only in February 1990. Its main goal was to convey to the people that belonging to any nation should not affect the attitude towards a person. He emphasized the true moral values, without which society cannot exist. His colleagues were: cameraman Boris Kocherov, composer Moses Weinberg, artist Pavel Ilyshev. The production was supervised by Mosfilm.
Serious roles for serious actors
As for the performers, the role of the Jewish woman went to the honored Soviet and Russian theater and film actress Margarita Terekhova. Previously, she was known to viewers for the films “Things Could Have Been Different”, “D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers”, “Let’s Get Married”. The son was played by four-year-old Muscovite Alexander Ignatiev. At the test he managed to beat more than two thousand competitors. Secondary roles in the military film “Our Father” were performed by: Valentin Nikulin, Vladimir Menshov, Valentina Malyavina, Yuri Katin-Yartsev, Alla Osipenko, Margarita Nyago, Vaclav Dvorzhetsky, Oleg Fedorov, Larisa Polyakova, Tamara Lyazgina, Martha Grakhova, Olga Yermolaeva. Such a cast managed to create one of the most brilliant films about the war. close
