“From my childhood in socialist Yugoslavia, I remember little, but I know that my family was not especially well-off, and still happy,” recalls the director of the film “The Weight of Chains 2” Boris Malagurski. But that soon changed. Western aggression and the isolation of Yugoslavia from 1992 to 2000 dealt a severe blow to its economy, and the so-called assistance that the West began to provide it since 2000, in many ways only aggravated the situation. Why? In his new film, Boris Malagurski talks about how Yugoslavia got into the trap of American loans and what it led to. close

It's hard to believe that Sis Farrington, with his love of smoking, women, gambling and port, is only 14. And that's because Sis' mother, Agatha, married for the second time, wrote off five years just in case. I had to do the same with my son from his first marriage. So the lover of noisy pastime is actually already 19, although he himself does not suspect it, as well as his stepfather, Judge Posquet.
However, Mrs. Posquet’s innocent conspiracy is on the verge of failure when the godfather Sisa arrives in the city. He is well aware of the real age of both, and the troubled Mrs. Posquet goes to his hotel to warn of possible misunderstandings. Sis, delighted by the absence of his mother, decides to have fun and invites the usually reasonable and respectable stepfather to drink with him. Judge Posquet convinces himself, and both go to the same hotel, where Sis has a room for such cases.

National Theatre Live’s 2010 broadcast of Alan Bennett’s acclaimed play The Habit of Art, with Richard Griffiths, Alex Jennings and Frances de la Tour, more
National Theatre Live’s 2010 broadcast of Alan Bennett’s acclaimed play The Habit of Art, with Richard Griffiths, Alex Jennings and Frances de la Tour, returns to cinemas as part of the National Theatre's 50th anniversary celebrations. Benjamin Britten, sailing uncomfortably close to the wind with his new opera, Death in Venice, seeks advice from his former collaborator and friend, W H Auden. During this imagined meeting, their first for twenty-five years, they are observed and interrupted by, amongst others, their future biographer and a young man from the local bus station. Alan Bennett’s play is as much about the theatre as it is about poetry or music. It looks at the unsettling desires of two difficult men, and at the ethics of biography. It reflects on growing old, on creativity and inspiration, and on persisting when all passion’s spent: ultimately, on the habit of art. close
