From whom and for whom and Where is Christmas? Throughout the film, the question arises, “What does Christmas have to do with it?” This Cristmas is an African American family film directed by African Americans for African Americans about African Americans. The picture will appeal to those who are interested in the culture of such families, with all their peculiarities: with a dozen different characters who enter into spontaneous dialogues and discuss each other, with younger and older “black” brothers, departed father and mother, who alone takes care of a large family. If you are collecting a selection of New Year’s movies, with New Year’s decorations and songs – here you will not find this, once you will see a Christmas tree and a couple of garlands. Given modern politics, a film about the life of an African-American family would surely have collected a couple of Oscars and would have become the film of the year.
