"Avanti!" by Billy Wilder, 1972. A wealthy businessman travels to Italy, where his father, the owner of a huge number of companies, died in an accident, and from where he must urgently bring his body to a magnificent funeral. Well, since this is a comedy, the action takes place in a comedic way - we see all these adventures of a rich American in Italy, who has to deal with a rather characteristically shown locals, the will of fate also brought together with the daughter of his father's girlfriend from England, who came to collect the body of his mother, because they were two in a crashed car. In the title role of Jack Lemmon, his partner was made by an unknown to me Juliette Mills (although, judging by her filmography, some films I watched, but she did not remember). My impressions? The film, of course, not bad, but in some places I thought a little too naive, and the heroine – frankly stupid, but nevertheless watched without tension, although the film is a little more than two hours. It's good music, it's beautiful, but it's not Wilder's best film for me, alas.
