This is a melodramatic comedy, I would say, with a considerable amount of satire, which at one time would most likely be called anti-Soviet. Three representatives of the People’s Commissariat of Trade are sent to Paris to sell there the nationalized jewels of a certain Princess Swanna, since the USSR is in a difficult financial situation and thus they want to correct it. But this trinity turns out to be morally unstable, instantly betrays all its principles and begins to enjoy a sweet life, as I understand it, at state expense, without even bowing to rent a royal suite in a fashionable hotel. The princess is also reported by a former aristocrat who works in this hotel, and she instructs her close friend Count Leon D'Algue to deal with this. He begins to act, the trinity continues to have fun, but suddenly, like thunder from a clear sky from Moscow, a representative of the People’s Commissariat Nina Yakusheva appears to understand the reasons for the protracted deal. At first, this indomitable employee seems completely impenetrable, but alas, apparently, the air of capitalist Paris and the charm of the Count D'Algoux who fell in love with her do their job and destroy this image. However, the princess does not sleep, at first she manages to escort Ninochka back to Moscow. But the count's love will roll stones in its path. . . In general, an amazing story, similar to a fairy tale, but shot well, the actors in the lead roles (Greta Garbo and Melvin Douglas) are good, do not even look like caricatures, which can not be said about the notorious trinity. On the one hand, in places, of course, cranberries, which you do not want to disassemble, on the other hand, some features are depicted quite correctly with a satirical grotesque. Well, there are no special claims to the fairy-tale love story, everything according to the laws of the genre and, of course, life in the USSR is not suitable not only for life in Paris, but also in Istanbul.
