One of King's best film adaptations. The works of Stephen King are filmed with enviable perseverance and along and across, which is facilitated by his habit of selling the rights to shoot for nothing and with the condition of shooting tomorrow or the day after tomorrow. However, most screenings are not obtained. And in addition, they successfully fail at the box office. The reason for this is that King’s prose and psychological conflicts don’t fit well on screen. And often does not contribute to the length of books and the limited time of a standard film.
And Rob Reiner was one of very few. Rainer shot a well-calibrated thriller about the struggle for survival. Perhaps the lack of mysticism in the source played a role. Of course, the director reworked the book and inevitably threw out a lot of interesting things. Therefore, the film inevitably became an independent work, a reworking of the text with the same characters, names and entries. But it is interesting and pleasant to watch it as a good thriller.
