Aside from the horribly drawn low-budget bear from Narnia, it started out well. Unhurried crime drama in the Japanese entourage and only with a little fantastic fleur. An old friend dies, bequeaths the company to his granddaughter, the yakuza want to remove it in order to get ahead of the transfer of the will, and a foreigner who is drawn into history because of his connection through the long past must deal with this. The brutal family relationships within the clan, the entourage of Japan, were all wonderful, and the whole film could be made about it, bringing it closer to the drama (an Asian cruel drama). About the first third of the movie, I thought I'd put an 8 or 9.
And then the hell happens. Wolverine is deprived of regeneration, but he continues to push and hide his claws again - he had to bleed out, without repair, these claws will tear his hands apart. When did Viper get a motor in his heart? Why didn't he even notice it? If the plan was to transfer his powers to the villain, why didn't she do it right then? First, only turn off, and only then transfer – this is an unnecessary, meaningless, overcomplicated plot decision.
On stage, when Logan does his own heart surgery, no anesthesia, no blood, no X-ray screen, under whipping swords, the film is dead to me. I had no idea that Deprived Logan would do it himself and not go to the surgeon, as it should be when the director cares.
Just killed by a poisonous pen in the neck, the evil father of the clan, as if nothing had happened, puts on armor and goes to cut with his adopted daughter to death for... what? He just died in agony, floundering in a puddle - he had to be raised back for an extra 5 minutes of action? Why did you have to involve a Japanese fiancé? He's still got a tiny role, what did he do as a villain anyway? Helped hire his fiancée's killers. What the hell is that little role?
As the harvester rode over a crowd of ninjas kicking under the wheels and turned them into wildly bloody mince, the film died a second time. First of all, this is a ninja, and even you, the reader, could easily dodge a huge clumsy machina traveling in a straight line. The second scene reminded me of how the wolf from "Well, wait" tractor grinded chickens. It was just puddles of blood, savage thrash. Why then was it necessary to show bloodless shots, bloodless heart surgery, mowing to children's movies?
Why did the viper shed, what was the meaning of this scene? Well, at least she exposed the skin of a snake for the effect or changed the appearance, but she also molded into exactly the same - why is this done?
Who in the end turned out to be the main villain - the twist is completely ridiculous and unjustified. The granddaughter is explained that she was chosen as an heiress because she is weak and easy to remove - if her grandfather is not dead, then she is not an heiress! And so there is no need to kill anyone at all, since my grandfather was the owner of the company, so he remained. You could, without touching anyone at all, just steal the youth of Wolverine, and everything. Then the film would be built on the fact that he regains the power stolen from him, along the way saving the sisters from a senseless massacre in the clan for the inheritance, which still would not have gone to anyone. And it would be a normal movie. Instead, it’s built on solid holes, attempts to cram more action, more intrigue, more movement into a story that just couldn’t accommodate all this wild nonsense.
