1944. Genevieve and Rene live in occupied Paris. They love each other, and the young woman looks on with fear at Rene's participation in the Resistance. During Rene's absence, the Gestapo entered the house to arrest resistance activist Louise. Genevieve intervenes, and she gets arrested, too. Resistance fighters are very concerned because she is aware of a planned bridge explosion. Renee trusts her, and Genevieve stands firm against torture. The bridge was blown up as planned, contributing to the decisive defeat of the German army.
