Gray zone A church man accuses Ears of exploiting a poor Nigerian woman, and thus suddenly finds herself in a sore spot – it seems that never before has an elderly, balanced German woman looked so insulted and annoyed. Yes, Ushi rents trailers to women - formally just renting, since prostitution is allowed in Germany, and pimping is not. A man came to talk about Jesus, and went into a gray area, which simply cannot but be a fairly honest film about how a real van near the highway to your city becomes a love car, and the hotel or club you pass by becomes a brothel.
Elke Lehrenkraus shot a documentary, and got a hybrid with a real Ear and planted to her “wards” Rita (actually Farida) and Milena, only one of whom actually earned prostitution. The gray area in which the viewer found herself throws him from the dull but real album of Ears with faded photos of brothels of the 70-80s to the bright and open Rita, trying to get a job in a “nightclub” and agreeing to the camera for much, but turning out to be just an actress.
The track passes through the forest, the vans are not far away and at night are clearly visible thanks to the illumination. In fact, it is an expensive symbolism. Stop, get out of your life/family/career car, come to the edge of civilization, which is equipped with the last for you and the first for Rita/Milena goods.
The last product, because you'd rather not buy anything, even though you don't understand it, you don't see a person with the same brain, feelings and blood as Rita says. In her final speech, she explains how money blurs the line between a supermarket and its car, between a person and a commodity.
The first commodity for them was themselves, who often emerged from the terrible forest of their childhood, from a country afflicted by poverty. As a child, Milena made her way through the forest with an evil stepmother, an orphanage, then beatings at the age of 18 in Berlin, where she was promised a job as a “cleaner”. So she finds herself at the edge of the forest, at the highway, and meets you, who wants something unusual from today's trip to the "supermarket". What does it say about Ear with its even sadder story, which is suddenly claimed to be exploiting someone? Betrayed by her husband, who had her child taken away, she just lost faith and decided to stay here until the end. By the way, talking to women as friends about how hard it is to find a good husband (not like you, the traveler who stayed here), and the closest she has to a few dogs. The man in the church is right, but he doesn't see that Ears and Rita are on the same side of the road. Why is that so? Because some man once cheated, stopped in the wrong place or went in the wrong place.
