When in the 90s of the last century we taught history, teachers told us that on the eve of the Second World War, the rearmament of the Soviet army began. Moreover, it was peculiar: as a result, the defenders of the fortress had almost one rifle for several people. While building up the power of the mounted troops in the old-fashioned way, the party leadership did not seek to develop new types of weapons. The old borders of the USSR were no longer guarded, and the new ones, including the Baltics, Western Belarus and Ukraine, were not yet equipped with everything necessary. I do not know whether this was in fact the case, or whether all this was presented to us in order to deliberately destroy the authority of the entire Soviet Union, but what cannot be taken away from the people of that generation is the feeling of patriotism and faith in a just cause, the cause of defending the gains of the Great October Revolution. No matter how hard it is! And it is this faith and the high patriotic spirit that reigned in those "forty-rock" fully conveys this film.
