Asghar Farhadi’s film Ghahreman, 2021, tells us about a not very lucky and not very smart, but a good man Rahim Soltani (Amir Jadidi), who tried to start his small business, but because of inexperience, the business failed, and he went to prison for unpaid debts. And then there was a ray of hope that he could get out of prison - his speech therapist friend, who studies with his son, who stutters very much, finds a bag of gold coins at the bus stop, cheerfully calls him to prison and they think that the coins can be sold for about 75 million fogs, pay off part of the debt, and about the rest negotiate with the creditor. Some of them in prison, it turns out, are given vacations from time to time, during such a short vacation they and a friend go to a shop where the buyer offers them a slightly smaller amount, they leave from there, and then Rahim comes up with the idea that it is better to return the coins to their owner, hangs ads where the prison number is given as a contact number, the owner (and is she the owner?). But the bag kind of correctly described) comes to his sister, takes the bag and disappears forever, because none of these naive people took any contact information from her, and she behaved so carefully that no trace of her could be found. And since the whole story unfolded in front of the prison authorities, they decided to make an advertising on it. And here we go. The story was initially told not quite truthfully, on TV he said that he found the bag himself, not wanting to involve his girlfriend, although the prison warden was told who found it, but many did not believe him at all, decided that the whole story was made up from beginning to end. He was shown on TV, invited to an event by a charity that decided to raise money to pay his debt. But the further the story got confused, and as a result, nothing good for him did not end, although he, however, slightly forced, did another good deed - he refused the money collected for him in favor of another prisoner who was at risk of death. The film turned out to be really good and then I was not even surprised that it was awarded at the Cannes Grand Prix by the jury, here the actors are quite convincing and the director, as always, is on top.
