Many will say that the film is long, others will celebrate the strange ending, but this film will not leave anyone indifferent. How nice to enjoy the play of a young but already mature Robert De Niro, as well as the brilliant play of James Woods, who played just above all praise, to see the first role of Jennifer Connelly – a truly dream debut.
For me personally, the brightest and most unique part of the film is, of course, a story about the youth of the guys, about the beginning of their journey in a huge world. This piece of the film can be reviewed endlessly, so magnificently he shot and brilliantly conveys the atmosphere of those times, the lives of ordinary guys from the street. And of course, the selection of actors for children’s roles and their combination with adult Noodles, Max and company is just perfect, I have never seen this anywhere else.
I am very glad that in those years there were such masters of music and directing who created delightful works of art for all time, now such films are very much in short supply.
