Another illustrative example of how an interesting concept can be killed by the implementation curve and inattention to detail.
There is a crisis in America – to get rid of unemployment, they found nothing better than once a year for one night to abolish the punishment for murder and suspend the work of the police, ambulance and rescuers. Around this ingenious idea of improving the economy, even a whole movement has lined up, whose members kill the poor in order to “clean up” and “let off steam.”
In itself, the idea of anarchy for a short time is interesting, but everything is not very good from the start. How does the shooting help the economy when cities are like civil war fields? Someone's got to rebuild it. How do you make sure that only people who do not fit into the market die? What if highly qualified professionals are killed? What about those who die of wounds after a siren? How can you prove that no one fired after the siren?
The characters in the film are also repulsed – the main characters have children who are traitors, put the interests of others above the interests of their parents. They do not obey and create extremely dangerous situations for everyone.
Gangs of rich people going out on the hunt is a separate topic, none of them are concerned about self-preservation - again, the question is - from whom should this night cleanse society?
In general, the idea to show controlled anarchy from the very beginning went somewhere wrong and could not do without an abundance of blunders and stupid actions of the characters.
