In contrast, the Armageddian, wholly insane, still develops according to internal logic and even has a certain philosophy. As a result, we get something in between “The Matrix” and “What Men Talk About” – a carbon monotonous comedy action movie filled, however, with ironic metaphors of the midlife crisis. The whole film is a metaphor for the midlife crisis, when you still have a lot to do, very little done, you are no longer young, and the whole world is at war with you.
It is not clear how "Armageddets" deserved a harsh age rating - a couple of jokes "below the belt" and "dismembered" androids from papier-mache? Perhaps this is a consequence of the ongoing fight against alcohol in Russia. But it should be noted that Armageddets does not praise drunkenness at all.
And you try to enter a bar full of men in combat coloring and ask for a glass of water.
No, the alcohol in the film is only one of the symbols of non-comformism, as well as the behind-the-scenes rock and roll. Here it is appropriate to recall the Rablesian “Drink!” – a kind of answer to the question of the life of the universe and everything else in the interpretation of the Renaissance: drink this life, have fun and live with your eyes open. Because Armageddian has already happened.
The result: witty dialogues, dashing battle scenes, rock and roll atmosphere and English humor. What else do you need for a great comedy?
