- In the first scenes, Strange turns the operation into a buffoon, turns on a musician, arranges a discussion of musical tastes and subtleties along the way, while human life is in danger. This behavior of medical staff during the operation is the reason for a reasonable claim that will be won. A little bit more, and he could do as in that joke: throws a pestering cat something cut off from the patient: "On, choke on."
- The second patient died due to "bullet poisoning" literally and figuratively. Not everyone will understand what humor is, but this is not a joke, but a writer.
- The bullet did not deform after hitting, although this is one of its functions, increasing the deadly effect. Only armor-piercing and incendiary bullets are not deformed, but they are used in war, and against equipment, in urban conditions, no one shoots them at people.
- The elder shows the unbelieving Strange magic to prove she's not a charlatan and then exposes him. I understand. That's what I would do, that's what you would do, but the Elder must be like the Buddha, above resentment. If she was going to kick him out, she wouldn't prove anything to him. But she acted like an offended petty mortal.
- Everything in the film is too fluent and superficial. Only 10 minutes is devoted to the fact that the hero is the doctor, then only one word remains. In a superhero, they always do this: a journalist is fired in the first 10 minutes, and lawyers do not go to work, or they will have to reveal their profession in the film, what else!
- Even less time is devoted to his drama, and his life as a patient is shown by literally flipping through. A trip to Nepal in search of healing, about which you could make a whole film, here boiled down to a walk along a couple of streets, almost the very first entourage turned out to be the right address. Magic is also ready, the authors did not even try to build some beautiful pseudo-philosophy around it, replacing the presentation of the topic with how the smug and atheistic hero reacts to it. Magic training here takes place in 5 minutes, and hop, Strange is already a top-level professional. The theme of the East is not disclosed - in the "Kung Fu Panda" the East is a hundred times more. That is, all the above layers in the film are, but they are very shortened, leaving a feeling of incompleteness.
The film's worst hole - Strange instantly recovered from a heart injury, got up from the operating table and went. Well, he'd use some kind of healing magic, but no, he didn't do that. And while he was on the operating table, Kicily in the temple did not even have time to begin the ritual.
- Strange went to the sorcerers specifically to heal his hands, and instead he was sent to dance with Satan, and his hands were never cured. Which, however, did not prevent him from masterfully handling weapons and doing everything else.
But there are life-saving features. The film is beautiful, the components of a high-quality blockbuster are selected in a clear dosage, special effects and music are good. I believed the motives of all the characters. The love theme is almost absent and put upside down – this is a plus, because there is a fight against clichés. Shown the relationship of the former, it is actually an interesting layer, which almost no one touches. There's tension, there's humor. And defeating evil was really original, something we've never seen before. So a normal average score for the balance of minuses and pluses.
