The film tells the story of Jerzy, a writer whose work is in crisis. His wife and their seven-year-old son Jacek live far from the city. Hedgehog’s creative crisis and associated financial problems affect a married couple, they drift apart and fade away. One day they learn that their son is sick and will have to go to the city for surgery. For a boy, it’s only a long-awaited journey to visit a toy car store, for parents it’s a time of anxiety and separation that forces them to take a fresh look at their relationship.
