In some places a great political satire, and in some places something passable. Surprisingly, towards the end the film looks good. It's usually the opposite. Of course, the film carries a characteristic imprint of the era. First and foremost is the expectation of nuclear war. As well as conflicts in the Middle East over oil (three years before the film was released, there was the Iranian Revolution and the oil crisis). However, the audience met the film coolly. The picture clearly refers to the Watergate scandal. But by that time, ten years had passed, and in the mass consciousness of Watergate began to forget, and other problems came to the fore. I would like to see the film through the eyes of the audience of that era, but it is extremely difficult to do. Because viewing is striking by depicting events that will occur in the next decades. That is why it is considered almost prophetic. What the creators parodied in the early '80s has become a sad reality in the last 30 years. How could they? Something fantastic. This makes it harder to laugh at the movie. Shawn Connery’s performance in this film is on top. And in terms of the meaning of this film, the most recent “Don’t Look Up” is closest. But "Wrong Right" looks better, despite the unusual entourage of the 80s in the frame.
