When I watched it at 9, it felt like I was watching something serious, independent, epic. This cartoon gave then strong emotions, a sense of dark adventure for the heroes who had a difficult fate. Of course, we had to compare it with all sorts of schizophrenic Soviet cartoons about lively mittens, a shabold parrot, about all sorts of talking bears, goats ... Most of our cartoons were designed to stop the development of children. Naturally, the Czech watch cartoon with demons, knights, wizards, love seemed incredible. I watched it for adults, and I didn’t experience anything but perplexity. The narrator speaks of Gonzik as a hero, but what exactly did he do so heroically? Three guardians he got for free, that's not his credit. He left his parents. He didn't fight the robber himself. Joined him, went to rob. He did not leave the cavalry himself, he was helped again. The fairy wasn't seduced either. He abandoned his friends and never apologized to them. I was flattered to have demonic wings, I did not even look for another way to get to my beloved. The only thing he did was defeat the dragon, and that was through luck. He won the tournament with the power of a vampire. Gonzic did almost nothing to characterize him as a hero. Almost the whole fairy tale he rode on the help of others, without showing gratitude, and committed bad deeds. I don't understand Marzhenka either. It was clearly stated that she became human, that is, she lost her magical power. So how did she split Gonzik? The power of love? The subject is undisclosed. It is unclear where and how they will live. In other fairy tales, the main characters either become rulers or stay in their town/village. But these two, without exaggeration, became homeless. All they managed to do was more or less defeat their stupidity. They have done nothing for the people, they have done nothing for them. Well, yes, they found each other, but I personally didn't think it was enough to end a story that could claim more.
