A sad adaptation of the manga about the growing up of Japanese students. The Japanese have probably the toughest adult world, which is provided by contrasts in attitudes towards children and adults, and the culture of kaisha and syndicates.
Trying to do something interesting, not socially approved, the main characters go through all possible problems (with work, loss of loved ones, finding themselves), but stay together in their group, which gave only a couple of concerts.
There are no ready-made answers here. The branch with the producer for the model can be intertwined in two ways, seemingly a missed chance, and it seems that the producer who went down this path has his regrets.
The only consolation this film offers grown-ups is friends, let’s all grow up and get boring, at least you do it together. There's something about it, of course. But is that all? Too pessimistic.
