Short British parody miniseries (6 episodes less than half an hour) on the theme of the movie "My Life in Film" / My Life in Film, 2004, directed by Toby McDonald. The main character Art (Chris Marshall) is really a fan of cinema, imagines and calls himself a director of independent low-budget films, sprinkles from time to time allegedly scripts, and while he lives in a rented apartment with his friend Jones (Andrew Scott, future Professor Moriarty in Sherlock), and together with him works in a state cinema, he sells tickets, Jones is a film mechanic. At the same time, Art has a unique ability to get into all sorts of stories, which often ends very badly. The action in each of the series is a parody and banter on the theme of the most famous films, which is not recognized, of course, by those who have not watched these films, and even then it is sometimes possible to recognize with difficulty, i.e. this series is filmed for such moviegoers who will also perceive this kind of banter in relation to these films. And these films are Top Gun (1986, Tony Scott), Rear Window (1954, Alfred Hitchcock), The Shining (1980, Stanley Kubrick), Shallow Grave (1994, Danny Boyle), 8 and a half / 8 1/2 (1963, Federico Fellini), Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid (1969, George Roy Hill), so judge for yourself. I can’t say that I experienced the delight of watching the series, although the idea was clear to me and the actors for the role were chosen well – such a jerk as Art, Chris Marshall portrayed well, and Andrew Scott in the role of Jones on the contrary turned out to be quite quiet and kind, otherwise their joint existence would be simply impossible, with Art in the end reconciled and the girl Jones Beth (Alice Lowe). So I will not recommend it to everyone, if anyone is interested, you can see it.
