Predators of Atlantis A new three-dimensional adventure for the whole family together with a wonderful cast will bring the audience into the whirlpool of amazing wonders and impressive special effects. Beautifully played characters will not be bored due to their charisma and entertaining scenes, both funny and impressive, both romantic and soulful. The perfect blockbuster in a competent presentation and a beautiful visual format.
The first thing I want to pay attention to here is not even the charisma of Michael Caine or the snow-white smile of Dwayne Johnson, but an amazingly competent work on mistakes in comparison with the first picture! “Journey to the Center of the Earth” with Fraser left by no means as pleasant impressions as its sequel. To change the enemy of the mummies to the king of the scorpions was definitely a good decision, to replace the dull guide with a sexy Vanessa Hudgens - all the more so. And how amazingly realistic were all the predators of Atlantis!
Elegantly made giant lizards surpass the quality of special effects not only cartoon tyrannosaurus of the first part, but also the inhabitants of Skull Island from "King Kong" Peter Jackson. Similar delights are caused by a giant electric eel, again famously giving the quality of drawing its colleague, shaggy huge bees and an incredibly believable dwarf elephant! Skin textures, movement and behavior, common combined scenes of actors and animals - all done at the highest level! And at the same time there will be huge ants, and giant spiders, and dwarf sharks and even air races from birds of prey!
The dynamics of the picture are exciting from the very beginning. The director gives literally non-stop action in his production, starting with a chase from the police, continuing with an exciting combination of the plots of classic books in one integral message to the world, and even after a hurricane, barely hitting the island, fermenting on the stones turns into a dangerous collision with an overgrown lizard. And this is only the very beginning of all the numerous, and most importantly - spectacular, adventures of brave heroes who learn the values of friendship, family and, of course, love.
There are many different ways of thinking about Verne’s story about the island, but at least they haven’t forgotten about monsters, as in the dullest black and white productions of 41 and 51. But the 1961 version with effects from the great Ray Harrihausen should also be in the home collection. The current film, of course, without frame-by-frame animation, but with a real breakthrough in CGI - such realism of objects and textures can be observed only in relation to the robots of the trilogy "Transformers", here with the help of high-quality graphic technologies are created various animals, insects, marine life and other familiar and familiar creatures in a very specific form. Brad Payton is not the first to show animated creatures and this time it turned out even better and much more effective!
Without the dangers and difficulties in a good adventure nowhere, and therefore the main characters on the way to Atlantis and back there are many obstacles that make them rally, open up and work in a team, preserve humanity in the wild, and become better, as well as better understand each other. Despite all kinds of monsters and predators, the movie is family friendly, correct and very touching. Without strong tragedies and deep dramas, the picture manages to convey its morality in an entertaining form, accompany the spectacle with cheerful humor, and turn each test into an exciting and emotional scene!
There are no complaints about acting. Hutcherson successfully coped with the role of a standard teenager, Rock Johnson in family paintings already looks quite like a poured, Louise Guzman humors at every step, and Hudgens in a tight minimum of clothes makes you drool and admire the charm. Michael Kane certainly outplayed all put together, approaching his person with such a soul and dedication that such a combat grandfather will be remembered for a long time. Well, and the film itself can be characterized just by the successful words of his character: “Well, what are you standing for?” Applaud! Really, bravo!
