Danil Arkadyevich Koretsky was born on January 8, 1948 in the city of Rostov-on-Don in a family of doctors. Since childhood, Danil dreams of becoming a detective and journalist. After graduating from the university, Koretsky works as an investigator of the Kirov district prosecutor’s office in Rostov-on-Don. Three years later, Koretsky was appointed senior researcher of the laboratory of forensic examinations, and in 1981 he joined the Rostov faculty of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. He currently works at this university, which is now called the Rostov Law Institute, and heads the department of criminology.
At the very beginning of his work as an investigator, Danil Koretsky tries to write criminal novels and novels. This line becomes the main one in the creative activity of the writer. All criminal plots in Koretsky’s works are partially based on real events and criminal cases.
