Alexander Vladimirovich Men was born on January 22, 1935 in the town of Semkhoz, Moscow region in a family of Jewish origin on both lines. At 6 months, the boy was secretly baptized together with his mother, the ceremony was conducted by Father Seraphim of the Catacomb Church.

When Alexander was 6 years old, his father was arrested and sent to the Urals, which he was able to leave only after the war ended. The boy received secondary education in one of Moscow schools, in 1953 he entered the Fur Institute, but in 1958 he was expelled because of religious beliefs.
In 1960, Alexander Men became a priest and entered the Moscow Theological Academy for correspondence education. From 1989 to 1990 he was the rector of the Sretensky Church.
The main works of Alexander are the books included in the cycle “History of Religion”: “Son of Man”, “In Search of the Way, Truth and Life” and others. He is also the author of the books “Heaven on Earth”, “Liturgy to Me”, “Sacrament, Word and Image”, “Where Did All This Come From?”, “How to Read the Bible?”
Alexander Men wrote many articles of apologetic and preaching content. His works have been translated into Lithuanian, English, Ukrainian, French and Polish.
Until the early 1980s, the writer’s works were mainly published abroad under the pseudonyms A. Pavlov, A. Bogolyubov and E. Svetlov. In the mid-1980s, he became the most popular Christian preacher.
In 1990, Father Alexander became the founder of the Russian Bible Society and the World of the Bible magazine. The author’s Peru owns such popular scientific works as “Liturgy to Me”, “The Origins of Religion”, “Bible and Literature”, “Isagogic”, “Liturgy to Me”, “On the Threshold of the New Testament” and many others.
In September 1990, Alexander’s father was brutally murdered. At the place of his death, a temple was erected, where the Divine Liturgy is constantly celebrated.
