Nadezhda Kosherova was born on September 23, 1902 in St. Petersburg. In 1923 she graduated from the acting school at the Petrograd theater "Free Comedy" and until 1928 was an actress in various theaters of Leningrad. Since 1929, Nadezhda Kosherova worked at Lenfilm, where she made her debut as a director in 1939 with the lyrical comedy Arinka. Her main creative direction chose the genre of the fairy tale, in which she first achieved great success in 1947, acting as a co-director of the film "Cinderella" - it was her name that was indicated in the credits, although to a large extent the film was directed by Nikolai Pavlovich Akimov, who was then in disgrace. Subsequently, Nadezhda Kosherova sometimes turned to fairy tales with elements of political satire ("Cain XVIII"), but mostly preferred traditional fairy tales for children ("The Old, Old Tale", "Tsarevich Prosha", "Donkey Skin"). The audience also remembered her films about the circus (“Tiger Tamer”, “Today is a new attraction”).
