Cukor’s first production was the satirical comedy “The Defected Lady”, and the director gained popularity thanks to film adaptations of works of classical and modern literature – on his account “Little Women”, “David Copperfield”, “Lady with Camellia”, “Romeo and Juliet”. George Cukor filmed famous stars of cinema - John Barrymore, Greta Garbo, Spencer Tracy, Cary Grant, Catherine Hepburn. Some of the best films of the director were the films “A Star Is Born” (with Judy Garland) and “Wild Wind” (with Anna Magnani and Anthony Quinn). A special place in the work of George Cukor takes a magnificent adaptation of the famous musical “My Fair Lady”, in which the main roles were performed by the unforgettable Audrey Hepburn and Rex Harrison.
