Bykov’s determination to become an actor was repeatedly tested at the entrance exams to the country’s theater universities. Teachers did not imagine such a small and rather ugly person as an actor. After graduating from the Shchukin School, the young actor proved his worth and eventually played more than forty roles in seven seasons in the Moscow Youth Theatre.
Roland Bykov created the first notable image in cinema in the film Overcoat (1959). A successful career of Bykov in the theater. In 1957, he headed the student theater of Moscow State University and at the same time became the chief director at the Leninsky Komsomol Theater.
Since 1960, Roland Antonovich became the director of the Mosfilm film studio, continuing to shoot and film since then. The title of best director of children's cinema brought him paintings
