Nikolai’s isolation did not let him relax. He did not succeed in the roles with words, he was all compressed and silently watched what was happening. Once classmates came to the play, where Olyalin played, and saw him, cramped and confused, began to joke about him. And it was then that the character of Nicholas appeared for the first time: he unexpectedly played so that even the director of the drama circle became inept.
After graduation, Nicholas, at the insistence of his father, decided to enter the Leningrad Military School. But before the exams, the young man made a completely different decision for himself. The following year Olyalin entered the Leningrad Institute of Theatre and Cinematography.
After graduating from the institute in 1964, Nikolai Olyalin went to Krasnoyarsk, where the theater of the young spectator opened. The young actor’s relationship with the director was not very successful due to his uncooperative Vologda character. That is why Olyalin got episodic roles, but in them the actor played so selflessly and deeply, talentedly conveying the character and mood of his characters that the viewer remembered him even in brief stage episodes.
In 1965, Nikolai Vladimirovich Olyalin made his film debut. The role of the test pilot in
