After graduation, Brian Singer, according to his script, staged a short film "Lion's Lair" - with his schoolmate Ethan Hawke in the title role. Thanks to this picture, the director got the opportunity to shoot a full-length film, which became the drama “Public Access” according to the script by Christopher McCarry. At the Sandans Festival in 1993, the film was awarded the Grand Jury Prize. A real breakthrough to fame was for Brian Singer thriller “Suspicious persons”, which achieved unexpected commercial success and critical acclaim. The film was awarded a number of prizes, and McCarry and Kevin Spacey received Oscars for the script and best supporting role, respectively. Three years later, Bryan Singer filmed the story of Stephen King, making the film “Authentic Apprentice” with Brad Renfro and Ian McKellen. In 2000, based on the popular comic book, the director staged a fantastic picture “X-Men”, where the leading roles went to Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Famka Janssen.
