Luke Wilson is an American actor, screenwriter, producer and director, born on September 21, 1971 in Dallas, Texas, USA. His father, Robert Wilson, worked as a manager at the TV channel, his mother, Laura Wilson, worked as a photographer. Luke was the youngest of three sons in the Wilson family. Luke’s two older brothers, Owen and Andrew Wilson, are also actors.
Luke attended St. Mark's School in Texas and enrolled in Western College after graduation. After college, Luke Wilson continued his studies at Texas Christian University, where he enjoyed sports: he repeatedly competed in athletics competitions, defending the prestige of the university. Parents insisted on building a sports career of his son, but Luke quit sports and began to engage in drama circle.
In 1994, the Wilson brothers, after consulting, wrote a good script and together with his friend Wes Anderson created a short film on this script, giving it the title Bottle Rocket. In the creation of the film took part: Owen – co-writer of the script, Luke – played the main role in the film, and Wes – became the director of the film. Young Texans took their first work so seriously that the film was screened at the Sandes Film Festival, and two years later this joint project was turned into a feature film, which became a kind of pass for young and talented people to Hollywood.
In 1997, Luke Wilson followed the creative acting path of his older brothers and starred in the melodrama “How to Lie in America?”, where Luke’s partner on the set was already a famous actress Calista Flockhart. After the release of the melodrama, Luke starred in a small role of the horror film Scream 2. This picture was followed by a romantic, light-hearted comedy starring Luke Wilson's Here's Such Pies.
Luke met with a beautiful, impressive actress Drew Barrymore and together with her starred in the films “Best people”, “In drug waves”, however, the star couple did not last long and in 1998 finally broke up.
In 1998, Luke starred in a small episode of the acclaimed cult series The X-Files. In 2004, Luke Wilson made his debut as director and screenwriter of the film Wendell Story. The second director of the film was brother Andrew Wilson, and the main, negative, role perfectly played the second older brother of Luke – Owen Wilson.
In 2006, Luke played the lead role in the
picture "Idiocracy" . In 2007, he starred in the film “Train to Yuma”, a superbly performed role in which brought the actor extraordinary success.
In 2010, Luke Wilson appeared in the movie Death at a Funeral. And this is not the whole filmography of a very promising actor. /
