Louise Hay is an American author.
Hay comes from a dysfunctional family living in Los Angeles. She was five years old when she was raped by a neighbor and dropped out of school at the age of fifteen. She later moved to New York, where she changed her name and began a career in modeling.
The future writer found the First Church of Religious Science, where she was told about the power of thought. Here she studied the metaphysical works of Florence Shinn, who argued that positive thinking can change the material environment of people.
In the early seventies, Louise became a practitioner, in this role she helped people to cure diseases through affirmations. She became known as the leader of such seminars. She then studied transcendental meditation.
Between 1977 and 1978, Louise found cancer, which she found rooted in her disgust at childhood and resentment at violence. Hay abandoned medicine and began to lead a completely different lifestyle, practicing forgiveness, proper nutrition, relaxation and purification. So she managed to cure herself of a cancerous tumor.
In 1976, Louise wrote a small pamphlet, Heal Your Body, which included a list of various diseases and their probable metaphysical causes. The pamphlet was expanded in her 1984 book Heal Your Life. In 2008, this book was still among the best-selling books according to the New York Times.
Hay founded Hay House Publishing, which became the primary publisher for the works and audiobooks of Doreen Wirce and Deepak Chopra, as well as most of Wyen Dyer's books. In addition to the publishing house, she founded the Hay Foundation in 1985.
In 2008, a film about Louise's life was released.
"Heal your life" . In the picture, in addition to Louise Hay herself, Wayne Dyer, Greg Braden, Jerry Hicks and Gay Hendrix took part.
