Born August 18, 1957, Changsha. Chinese and American composer. During the Cultural Revolution, he worked in the countryside, collecting rice. He worked as an arranger at the Beijing Opera. He entered the Beijing Conservatory and was deeply influenced by Takemitsu’s music.

In 2000, together with S. Gubaidulina, O. Golikhov and V. Rim, he participated in a collective international project commissioned by the Bakhov Academy in Stuttgart on the theme of Bakhov’s Passion.
