Todd Phillips is an American writer, producer and director. Originally from New York City, Todd Phillips attended the New York University Film School, which he decided to drop out to concentrate on completing the filming of his debut feature-length documentary Hated: GG Allin and the Murder Junkies, which tells the story of the life and death of the famous punk rocker GG Allin.

Originally from New York City, Todd Phillips attended the New York University Film School, which he decided to drop out to concentrate on completing the filming of his debut feature-length documentary Hated: GG Allin and the Murder Junkies, which tells the story of the life and death of the famous punk rocker GG Allin.
In 1994, Phillips founded the Underground New York Film Festival, and in 1998 he made a documentary about various fraternities called Frat House, which was awarded the main prize of the Sundance Film Festival.
Within the framework of this festival, Todd Phillips had the opportunity to get acquainted with the famous director Ivan Reitman, under the leadership of whom he shot two of his own debut short films – “Old Hardening” and “Road Adventure”.
